LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED PRESIDENT'S DAY
The Library will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2011 in celebration of President's Day.  The Library will re-open at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22nd.

PROPERTY TAX APPEAL FORUM
Please plan to attend an outreach forum for an opportunity to appeal your property tax assessment. The program will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Riverdale Community Resource Center located at 13725 S. Wabash in Riverdale.

This program is sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Larry R. Rogers, Jr. and Mayor Deyon Dean. Please bring your tax bill.

2ND ANNUAL STATE OF THE VILLAGE BUDGET MEETING
A meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the General George S. Patton School located at 13700 S. Stewart in Riverdale.

The following information will be provided:
* Presentations regarding the Village's Budget will be addressed by Village Department Heads
* Get details about former projects as well as upcoming projects
* Get your questions answered in a setting dedicated specifically to the topic of Village Finances

BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION
The Thornton Township and Human Relations Commission will be presenting "From The Beginning - Black History Month Celebration" with the following performers: The Najwa African Dance Group, Ugochi and Asel - and Poetry and Song. The event will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Riverdale Senior Youth & Family Service Center located at 14323 S. Halsted in Riverdale. The time of the event will be 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. The event will feature Commemorate Legacy of Dr. Margaret Burroughs (Du Sable Museum Founder), and speakers Thornton Township Supervisor Frank M. Zuccarelli, Riverdale Mayor Deyon Dean and spokesperson Du Sable Museum. This event is open to the public and refreshments will be provided.
