On September 27, 2007, Cook County Board President Todd H. Stroger launched a discount program available under a program sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo) that offers average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs. To receive a discount on prescriptions, an individual simply presents the card at a participating pharmacy. There is no enrollment form, no membership fee and no restrictions or limits on frequency of use. Cardholders and their family members may use the card any time their prescriptions are not covered by insurance. Cards will be available at the County Building at 118 N. Clark, at Commissioner's offices, and at various other sites around the County. County residents can call toll free 1-877-321-2652 or visit www.co.cook.il.us or https://naco.advancerx.com for assistance with the program.
