RIVERDALE LIBRARY CLOSED DUE TO ROOF CONSTRUCTION
The library will be closed on Wednesday, May 26th and Thursday, May 27th due to construction on the roof.  The library will reopen at noon on Friday, May 28th. No late fees will be charged for the days we are closed if the materials are brought back on Friday.

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION (IVANHOE PARK DISTRICT OF RIVERDALE)
Registration for Summer Camp will be located at the Riverdale Park Memorial Building located at 151 W. 137th Street and at the Ivanhoe Park Field House located at 144th & Stewart in Riverdale.

Registration at Riverdale Park Memorial Building will be held on May 27th, 29th, June 1st, 3rd, and 5th from 9:00am - 3:30pm at 151 W. 137th Street.

Registration at the Ivanhoe Park Field House will be held on May 26th, 28th, 31st, June 2nd and June 4th from 9:00am - 3:30pm.

Registration Fee: Residents -$20.00 and $25.00 for non-residents. Camp Fee - Residents is $55.00/week for 9:00am - 4:00pm or $65.00/week for 7:00am-6:00pm. Camp Fee for non-residents is $65.00/week for 9:00am-4:00pm or $75.00/week for 7:00am - 6:00pm. Summer School Special: If your child is attending summer school, they can also be in camp from 1:00pm - 6:00pm Monday through Thursday and a full camp day on Friday for only $45.00/week! Child Care Initiative and SOAR accepted.

COMPLIMENTARY TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FOR CAREGIVERS
Do you care for an elderly person? & Do you live in the Village of Riverdale? & Do you need transportation?, if you answered YES to all 3 questions, Shekinah Chapel can help. They will transport to Ultra Foods, Village Hall & the Red Line.

SIMFA CAMP 2010
Shekinah Chapel located at 13800 S. Wabash in Riverdale will be hosting a camp for kids starting on June 21, 2010 through July 30, 2010. The camp will be held Monday-Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm and will included Arts & Crafts, Dance, and Weekly Field Trips. The cost is $50.00 a week.

BLOCK vs BLOCK F.O.R.C.E.Teen Basketball Tournament
The (MRF) is now signing up teens in Riverdale age's 13-18 to participate in their first ever village wide Block vs Block teen basketball tournament hosted by the Miracle Rich Foundation. This tournament is organized to promote their SAVE OUR YOUTH CAMPAIGN by allowing teens the opportunity to have a peaceful summer interacting with one another in a competitive sport to direct teens from violence and gang activity in the community.

FAMILY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
The Family Enrichment Program is a free Infant/Toddler program held by the ECHO Family Enrichment group in the Riverdale Annex at 150 W. 137th Street.

RIVERDALE'S 2ND CLEANUP DAY.
The Village of Riverdale in cooperation with Tri-State Disposal Inc. will sponsor Riverdale's 2nd Cleanup Day on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Pick up hours are from 6:00AM to 12:00PM. ITEMS MUST BE PLACED IN THE SAME AREA TRI-STATE PICKS UP YOUR WEEKLY GARBAGE. Items should not be placed outside before Friday, June 11, 2010.

Items that WILL BE ACCEPTED for pick up are: furniture, clothing, bicycles, other unwanted household items, white goods such as refrigerators (doors must be removed), stoves, washers and dryers. Items that will NOT BE ACCEPTED for pickup are: tires, batteries, construction materials, and hazardous waste materials (i.e. used oil, paint or chemicals).

THE TRUCKS WILL ONLY MAKE ONE TRIP. Have all unwanted items in your pickup area by 6:00am Saturday.

GIRL SCOUT MENTORS NEEDED
Girl Scouts of Riverdale are looking for adults 18 years & up to donate a few hours mentoring young girls or sharing your hobby. We have long-term and short-term volunteering opportunities.
