Mon-Thurs 3pm-6pm at the Thornton Township Senior Youth & Family Services, 14323 S. Halsted in Riverdale, IL. Offering: homework help with a focus on Math, Science & Language Arts; Social Skills, & Fitness/Nutrition.

VILLAGE OF RIVERDALE PUBLIC HEARING
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverdale will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall Council Chambers located at 157 West 144th Street in Riverdale, Illinois.

The purpose of the public hearing is to:

1. Be informed about the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), as administered by the Village of Riverdale

2. Discuss the status of each project not yet completed, and the estimated completion dates and financial status of each of these project; and

3. Review existing and future needs of the Village that may involved Community Development Block Grant Assistance.

Please plan to attend! All comments are welcome.

MICROSOFT EXCEL CLASSES AT THE E-VILLAGE NETWORK CENTER.
The Riverdale E-Village Network Center, located at 13725 S. Wabash in Riverdale, IL, will be teaching "Introduction To Microsoft Excel" classes starting December 2nd through December 18. Classes will be held from 9am-12pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and from 6pm-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

PUBLIC SAFETY HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING.
Come join us for the tree lighting ceremony to be held at the Public Safety Building located at 725 W. 138th Street in Riverdale.

When: Sunday, December 7, 2008
Time: 3:00 pm.

The new Youth Choir will perform. Refreshments and Santa will be on hand.

RIVERDALE COMMUNITY YOUTH CHOIR AUDITIONS.
Auditions for 5th & 6th graders for the Riverdale Community Youth Choir will be held on Saturday, November 15 at the Riverdale Resource Center located at 13725 S. Wabash in Riverdale from 11am - 4pm.

TOYS FOR TOTS COLLECTION.
The Village Hall will be collecting toys from Monday, November 10 through Wednesday, December 17th. Large collections can be picked up. Giveaway is December 19th. Gifts must be new and unwrapped. Cash donations are always welcome.

CHRISTMAS COLORING CONTEST
The Riverdale Park will be sponsoring a Christmas Coloring Contest. Pick out your favorite crayon colors for this special. Christmas Coloring Contest. Pick-up an entry form starting on November 24th. Return your picture by Friday, December 12th. Winners will be notified by phone.

Age Groups: 3 & 4 years, 5 - 7 years, 8 - 10 years. There is no charge for this event.


Coloring forms will be available at one of the following locations: Riverdale Park District (708) 841-0095, Recreation Center located at 137th & Eggleston (708) 841-4959 or at the Riverdale Network Center located at 13725 S. Wabash (708) 841-4153.

GLENWOOD ROLLER SKATING TRIPS
The Riverdale Park is sponsoring 2 trips to the Glenwood Roller Rink. The first one will be on Saturday, December 6th and the second one will be on Saturday, January 7th from 12:30 - 4:00pm for ages 7 - 17 years. Cost per person is $8 and includes transportation, entrance into the rink, skate rental and lunch. Registration must be made no later than (1) week in advance of each date.

RIVERDALE RESOURCE CENTER PRESENTS "THE GO TO 2040"
The Go TO 2040 planning process is a vision drafted by Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) that gives local communities and areas throughout the Chicago region to make public comment. The 2040 Regional Vision describes the desired future in terms of 1) quality of life, 2) natural environment, 3) social systems, 4) economy, 5) infrastructure and governance.

You have a chance to learn about the 2040 plan and process and more importantly, you have a chance to share what you want for yourself, your children and grandchildren. This is your chance to say what you want as it relates to:

Businesses and Investments
Quality of Life
Environmental Health, Energy Use and Water Supply
Equitable and Inclusive Housing
