As high school seniors begin to position themselves for their future, there are many unanswered questions about what lies ahead. Junior Achievement's high school programs help students make informed, intelligent decisions about their future, and fosters skills that will be highly useful in the business world. With a range of different programs, Junior Achievement teaches about concepts relating to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness.
Class will be held every 1st and 2nd Friday of the month starting in November from 4:00-6:00pm at the Ivanhoe Park Field House located at 14401 S. Stewart in Riverdale, Illinois. All High School Seniors Welcome. There is no cost for this program.

The Riverdale Park will be sponsoring a trip to the Haunted Trails Amusement Park on Saturday, October 25th from 2:00 - 6:30 p.m. Group package includes: bus fare to and from the amusement park, admission to the "Frightmare -the world's greatest Haunted House", (1) game of "spooktacular" miniature golf, (20) game tokens, and (1) go-kart ride. Cost for this event is $15 per person.

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is sponsoring a Household Hazards Waste Disposal Day on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. It will be held at Ridgeland Avenue Solids Management Area located at West 119th Street and Ridgeland Ave. in Worth, Illinois.
Items accepted will include: auto batteries, BBQ propane tanks (EMPTY), fire extinguishers (EMPTY), fluorescent bulbs, fuels, household batteries, medicines, oil based paints, used oil and weed killers. Items that will not be accepted are: computers, electronics, explosives, fireworks, latex paint, medical wastes, and tires.
