RIVERDALE LIBRARY RELOCATING TO TEMPORARY QUARTERS
The Library has to vacate the building so that contractors can reconstruct the wooden trusses that support our roof. During the summer, the Library will be located in 3 mobile trailers in our parking lot.
The tentative timetable will have the Library closing to move into the trailers on Monday, May 23. The last day of service will be May 21, and the Library will reopen for service on Tuesday, May 31 following the Memorial Day holiday. The return to the building is scheduled for August.
The Library hours will remain the same during the summer relocation. The Library opens at noon daily. The Library closes at 8pm on Monday & Tuesday, at 6pm on Wednesday & Thursday, and at 4pm on Friday & Saturday. The telephone number remains 708-841-3311.
Services that will be available to the public are: popular materials, including a selection of CD's and DVD's, books, current magazines and newspapers. Three public Internet computers will also be available. We will issue library cards and provide reference and interlibrary loan service for customers.
A number of services will not be available including Visa/Mastercharge charge card service, photocopying, faxing, laminating, or parking. The Library will not have any public typewriters, public seating, tables, or a drinking fountain. Bathroom facilities are limited to a portable toilet unit. The on-line catalog will not be available, but customers who has internet service can access the library collections of all MLS libraries using the internet address: swan.mls.lib.il.us

The Riverdale Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Riverdale are sponsoring their 13th Annual Flea Market/Garage Sale on Saturday, July 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. The Flea Market will be held in the West end of the Metra Lot at 144th & Atlantic. If you would like to be a vendor, the cost is $15 per date or $50 if you sign up for all 4 dates at once (as available). The sale will run from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
