STATE REP. WILL DAVIS TO HOST COMMUNITY SHRED DAY, ELECTRONIC RECYCLING AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK
State Representative Will Davis will be hosting a Community Shred Day,Electronic Recycling and Prescription Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, June 18, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. The location will be at Rep. Will Davis' District Office located at 1912 W. 174th Street in East Hazel Crest (between Dixie Highway and Wood Street). Free. Residential only. Safer. Onsite shredding . Collection until the trucks are full. Items that will not be accepted for recycling are: car batteries, appliances or tubed computer Monitors (CRT), and Toner Cartridges. No hypodermic needles or liquid medicines.

RIVERDALE PARK DISTRICT TENNIS CAMP
The Riverdale Park will be hosting a 6 week Tennis Camp in partnership with @XS Tennis & @THEACEPROJECT. The camp is for beginners and advanced-beginners  and will be taught by XS Tennis instructors. The dates are June 10-July 17, 2019 (Monday & Wednesday) from 5:30-6:30 pm OR 6:30-7:30 pm for Adult and children (8+ years old). It will be held at 14322 S. Ivanhoe Drive, Riverdale, IL 60827.

RIVERDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY READ TO SUCCEED PROGRAM 2019
Will you be bored this summer? Want to make some extra cash this summer so you can have fun in the sun? If the answer to these questions are YES, Join the Riverdale Public Library Ready To succeed program this summer. This program was designed to help children read more during the summer months so they won't fall behind in their studies.

All you have to do is bring in your library card, check out your favorite book, read it, and bring your book back and you will received a golden ticket. OH...AND DON'T BE SURPRISED IF WE ASK YOU WHAT YOUR BOOK WAS ABOUT!!!!!!! LETS HAVE SOME FUN READING IN THE SUN!!!!

CONGRESSWOMAN KELLY TO HOST 6TH ANNUAL YOUTH JOB EXPO


Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a Youth Job Expo for young men and women between the ages of 16 and 23 on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Media Center of Rich South High School, 5000 Sauk Trail, Richton Park.

More than 50 employers will be accepting applications for active job openings, summer internships and apprenticeships. Representatives from various agencies and youth services will also be on hand to talk with young people about program offerings that will help them succeed. Business attire is highly recommended. Bring resumes with you, as some employers may conduct interviews on-site. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Parking is available outside the school’s auditorium, just off Sauk Trail on the north end of the West Lot.

Prior to the Expo, Rep. Kelly is sponsoring a Job Readiness Workshop to help young people enhance their interview skills, build their resumes, and more. The workshop takes place Thursday, April 3, at 4 p.m., at Rich South High School. CONGRESSWOMAN KELLY TO HOST 6TH ANNUAL HIRING EVENT AND JOB READINESS WORKSHOP

Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a  her 6th Annual Hiring Event for residents of the 2nd Congressional District on Friday, October 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Lan-Oak Park District, 2550 178th St., Lansing, IL. More than 50 employers with active job openings will be in attendance.

Prior to the Hiring Event, Rep. Kelly will sponsor a free Jobs Readiness Workshop on Wednesday, October 17, from 6 to 730 p.m. in the Community Room of the Calumet City Public Library, 660 S. Manistee Avenue, Calumet City. Instructors from the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership will teach job seekers interview etiquette and skills, how to prepare a resume.

Companies and agencies participating in this year's Hiring Event include FedEx Ground, UPS, ComEd, Metra Rail, Comcast, the U.S. Post Office, Advocate Health Care, Home Depot, and Uber.

Last year more than 85 employers with active job openings met more than 400 job-seekers.

Prior to the Hiring Event, Rep. Kelly will sponsor a free Jobs Readiness Workshop on Wednesday, October 25, from 6 to 730 p.m. in the Community Room of the Calumet City Public Library, 660 S. Manistee Avenue, Calumet City. Instructors from the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership will teach job seekers interview skills, how to prepare a resume, and strategies to navigate hiring events.

Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a Youth Job and Resource Expo for young men and women between the ages of 15 and 24 on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Field House of the Thornton Township High School, 15001 Broadway Ave, Harvey.

More than 50 companies and agencies will be accepting applications for available jobs, summer internships and apprenticeships. Participating employers and agencies include Nike, Walgreens, Chase Bank, ComEd, Illinois Department of Transportation and Chicago Cook Workforce Partnerships.

To help young people prepare for the hiring event and interviews, Rep. Kelly will sponsor a Job Readiness Boot Camp on Wednesday, March 29, from 530 to 7:30 p.m., in Room T107, located inside the Technical Building of Thornton Township High School in Harvey.
